In the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak we are seeking to be good neighbors, to protect the elderly and vulnerable, and to be the church. If you are in need of assistance, or have a prayer request, we want to help! Please fill out our community care form below. If we cannot directly help, we will do our best to connect you with another church or organization that can. If you are healthy and would like to help others, let us know that as well.
A Church Amidst The Neighborhood
Did you know one of the first churches in Havertown was started at a mill? That's right, back in the early 1800s, before there were a plethora of churches in our community, one of the first churches met at a mill. Mills were gathering places in the community at the time. For us, this is a reminder that the church is meant to exist amidst the neighborhood. The church ought to bring value and life to the community around it, not just exist for itself and its members. From the very beginning, we endeavor to be a church amidst the neighborhood.
As such, we have ongoing partnerships with community organizations and businesses that are doing good work in our neighborhoods (House Cup Coffee, Kelly Center, Haverford Alliance for Drug Awareness, Haverford Township). In addition, we seek to be present regularly in the community - through community events, festivals, initiatives, etc. For upcoming events click here. If you see needs in the neighborhood that we might be able to help meet, or you wish to join us in our community care efforts, fill out the form below.
